Hi there!
I'm Nataly (well, Nataly Kogan, if we want to get more formal about it.)
Picasso said: "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." I know exactly what he meant.
I've always loved art, dabbled in art, played with art, but mostly when I was younger and when no one was paying attention. It wasn't until the decades started to add up that I realized I was growing out of being an artist. So, I changed a lot of life stuff to make room for making art.
I paint because it brings me joy. It's really that simple.
In my other life, I run a company called Happier, and give talks and write books about emotional well-being. Given that I'm a Russian Jewish immigrant, the idea that I spend my life helping people experience more joy is a bit surreal and a lot nutty, but I love doing it.
Joy didn't come easily to me (if you've got 15 minutes, I share some of the journey in my TEDx Talk). But just like art, I think of it less as a result and more as a process, a journey, an exploration, one that sometimes feels like am impossible triumph and at other times, a gift.
Thanks for stopping by and please reach out with any questions, ideas, or beautiful art to share. I do sell some of my art, so if you see something you like, just send me an email to natalykogan at gmail dot com and I'll get right back in touch.
Have an awesome day!
Nataly
